A lot of energy advice online is really a sales pitch for solar panels, windows or financing. We think most homes should start with the free and cheap steps, and we write independent guides that say so.
What we do
We publish practical energy-saving guides with rough costs, an appliance energy cost calculator, a rebate guide, the Energy Savings checklist and a free DIY Energy Audit Workbook. We send The Kilowatt Letter to people who sign up for it, and we're preparing the Efficiency Report, a paid written plan built from your own bills.
What we don't do
- We're not a utility, energy supplier, solar company or contractor, and we don't sell equipment or financing.
- We don't sell leads or take referral fees.
- We never ask for your utility login and never switch your supplier.
- We never sell or share your email address.
