Terms of Service
Effective October 12, 2026
These terms govern your use of efficienthomehelp.com, free accounts, our newsletter, the free DIY Energy Audit Workbook and other downloads, and Efficiency Report. The site is operated by Rip & Ride LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. General energy information
Our guides, calculator, downloads, emails and Efficiency Reports are general information about saving energy at home. Savings estimates are approximate; actual results depend on your home, climate, equipment, behavior and energy prices. We are not a utility, energy supplier, contractor or tax adviser. Hire licensed professionals for electrical, gas and HVAC work, and confirm incentive details with the program or a tax professional.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account or make a purchase.
3. Free accounts
- Accounts are free. You need a verified email address and a password.
- Keep your password confidential. You're responsible for activity under your account; tell us promptly if you think it's been misused.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or are used to abuse the site.
- Account holders receive account emails (verification and password resets), plus one email when the Efficiency Report is available only if they ask for it. The newsletter is separate and optional.
4. Efficiency Report
- When available, each Efficiency Report is a one-time purchase at the price shown on the Efficiency Report page in US dollars, paid in advance through our third-party payment provider.
- You upload up to 12 months of utility bills, a short questionnaire and photos of equipment labels. We send a written report within the stated time, based only on what you provide. We don't visit your home or test it with equipment.
- Savings and cost ranges in a report are estimates, not guarantees. Rebate information is checked at the time of the report but programs can change or run out of funding.
- We don't sell equipment, refer you to contractors or switch your energy supplier.
- Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
4a. Downloads
The free DIY Energy Audit Workbook and member downloads are free for personal use. You may print and share them with your household, but not resell or republish them.
5. Email
We send the newsletter only to people who sign up and confirm by email, and you can unsubscribe at any time. See our Email and Anti-Spam Policy.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use the site to break the law, sign up other people without their permission, submit false information, interfere with the site's security or operation, scrape it in bulk, or send spam or harmful content through our forms.
7. Our content
The site's text, guides, downloads and Efficiency Reports are owned by Rip & Ride LLC and protected by copyright. You may print or save pages for personal, non-commercial use. Please link to us rather than copying our content.
8. Links to other sites
We may link to other websites, such as Department of Energy, ENERGY STAR, DSIRE and utility pages. We're not responsible for their content or practices.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't guarantee any particular energy savings, bill amount, rebate approval or outcome.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rip & Ride LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, arising from your use of the site, guides or Efficiency Report, or from decisions you make based on them. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site or Efficiency Report is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Rip & Ride LLC against claims arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, unless the law of your state of residence gives you the right to bring it where you live.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is material, we'll notify members by email. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
